Education & Training
I began studying Ayurveda in 2002 when I was introduced to this system of medicine as a way to heal chronic digestive issues I'd been dealing with since I was a kid. I began formal education of Ayurveda at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2008. In 2009, I traveled to Pune, India to continue my clinical studies in Ayurveda under the expertise of Dr. Vasant Lad. Additionally, I've studied hormone balance from the perspectives of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Dr. Claudia Welch. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
I am certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and in New Mexico as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. In Michigan, where I now practice, I am a licensed acupuncturist. I earned a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine from the Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This allows me to administer acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and much more.
Most recently, I became a certified postpartum professionial meaning I offer personalized consultation and therapies to best support the new mom during the postpartum time. Often the mother’s are forgotten about as soon as the baby arrives and I am passionate abour reinvigorating ancient traditions from around the world that acknowledge this time as profoundly important for the long-term health of the mother. Ultimately, what is best for mom is best for baby (and the whole family).
