Hormone Balance

When it comes to women, hormone balance is akin to riding the waves on ever changing sea. Change is constant and the goal is not to reach a fixed state of balance, but with flexibility and dexterity, to morph ourselves to rise and fall, expand and contract in dynamic balance to our ever-fluctuating rising and falling sea of hormones.

That said, this dynamic balance is possible for each of us. The goal is to live in the space of small shifts, minor fluctiations in our day to day life, empowered through knowledge how to align with these ever-present changes rather than to be cast about widely from one extreme to another. Mood swings, premenstrual symtoms, debilitating cramping and pain, hot flushes and night sweats, extreme dryness, irritability, depression and low libidio are just a few of the sypmtoms to be found in the land of hormone im-balance.

My approach is one of integration of two ancient systems of medicine, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which includes any or all of the following modalities: acupuncture treatments, moxibustion, body work, herbal medicine and a specialized nutrition and lifestyle guide created just for you. This extremely effective method eliminates the underlying cause of the symptoms common with menstruation, PMS and menopause. Aside from remarkable effectiveness of this integrated approach to women's health issues, the "side-effects" or positive effects common are an overall healthier, happier, balanced woman empowered with wisdom of how to heal and maintain health and vitality in her own body.

Common Issues:

  • amenorrhea (no periods), irregular cycles, short or long cycles, menorrhagia (heaving bleeding at menstruation

  • PMS and associated symptoms: breast tenderness, bloating, fatigue, cravings, acne, mood swings etc.

  • Menopausal symptoms: hot flushes, night sweats, difficulty with thermoregulation (dramatic shifts in body temperature, very hot to chilled and then hot again), dryness (mouth, eyes, skin, vagina), depression, low or no libido,
  • Insomnia etc...

Using a combined approach of Ayurvedic medicine, Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, I work with women, men and couples trying to get pregnant. Whether you are just beginning your journey or have already be labeled "infertile"or if you've experience the tremendous pain and sadness of a miscarriage or multiple miscarriages or have tried assisted reproductive technologies (ART), there is profound benefit to be gained in promoting one's fertility and achieving conception through the use of the time-tested and well-informed approach of Ayurveda and TCM.
